composer
Emmanuel
Chabrier

originally
employed
in

Ministry
of

Interior
in
Paris,

1880
he

bureaucratic
career
to

His

include
some
colourful
orchestral
compositions
and
piano
music
that
had
a
marked
influence
on
subsequent
generations
of
French
composers
including
Debussy,
Ravel
and
Poulenc.

romantic
waltzes
composed
by
Chabrier.
They
are
his
celebration
of
the
popular
moderately
triple-time
dance
of
the
period.
The

is

for
